Not too long ago I asked myself how much feeling great was worth to me. My answer was, “Whatever it takes.” This after suffering through a lifetime of chronic back pain. And after having been through the full gamut of surgery, pills, bed rest, canes, and “don’t do anything that could possibly bring on the pain” I decided to try a trainer. Treating the symptoms no longer worked. I needed to get at the reason for all the debilitating pain. About 6 years ago I slowly limped in and got started with Jay Morton and the journey began. Today I’m about 50 lbs lighter and pain free, and am able to do things I haven’t been able to do for 30 years. I’m absolutely convinced this is because Jay worked with me on the cause of my problem rather than the symptom. He understood this from the beginning when I didn’t. I just wanted the pain to go away. The workouts are always hard and I’ve often wondered where he got the patience to stick with me when my progress is so “slow.” I think it’s because he knows it will work if I stick with it. Oh, so right. Jay has proven to be a perfect match for me. He has a solid understanding of what’s going on with my back. He’s always focused and professional. More than that though, I consider him to be a true friend who cares about how I feel. I feel great, Jay. Thank you.

When I turned 50, as a part of my birthday present, my husband convinced me to work with a trainer. I had worked out quite a bit in the 80's and then came the family and children. Now here I was at 50 and the kids were finishing college or getting married. This was the time to create time for myself. The only hobby I had was family, so the gym became my new hobby. At this time in my life I had undergone 2 knee surgeries and had other various issues with my muscles and joints. (Who doesn't at 50, right?) I was told that the next surgery would be a knee replacement if I didn't change something. With the support of my family I hired a trainer, and I count my blessings that it was Jay Morton. During the first year weight loss was part of the program, but not the focus. I was getting my entire body moving again and I was learning a lot. There were many challenges along the way, but I never let obstacles get in the way of my fitness goals. Jay and I track my food, we meet weekly, and I have lost over 35 lbs! It is so worth it and it reminds me that my goal is not to slide back, but to keep moving forward and maintain what I have worked so hard for the past few years!I feel better than ever and want to thank my trainer Jay!
